Our family...

We have been married since June 2007. We live in our home in Chapin with our amazing, sweet daughter, Audrey, who was born in March 2011, and our clever dog, Betsy. This blog is a way to keep our out-of-state family and friends updated on our lives!

"in case of pregnancy, ask your doctor before using..."

I am so sick of reading this on the back of medicine labels! I woke up last Monday morning with a horrible sore throat, which got progressively worse as the week went on. By Wednesday, I'd had enough and called my doctor. I ended up with a Z-pack and left the doctor's office relieved, thinking I would be feeling better in no time (since Z-packs usually knock it right out of me)! However, now it's Sunday, the Z-pack is gone, and I'm feeling awful! The sore throat is gone, but I am terribly congested, and I am coughing constantly. The coughing has made my chest and ribs hurt as well. I am taking everything that the pregnancy allows me to take, but I still haven't had relief! It's very frustrating to be sick during pregnancy because I am more worried about keeping the baby safe and healthy, but at the same time, I have GOT to feel better in order to get through the day! Even sleeping is difficult, as I can't get into a comfortable position that enables me to breathe with all the congestion!

Yesterday, Jerry and I drove to Lancaster to see our friends James and Brandi. Then, the four of us drove to Charlotte to see one of our favorite musicians, Ben Folds! The concert itself was AWESOME, but I tell ya; these events are different when you're pregnant! The venue was standing only, so I had nowhere to sit! Luckily, there were rails I could lean against, and I just sat on the floor in between the opening act and main event! Being sick with this sinus infection made it even worse! I hope I'm never sick during a concert again!

This week, we are really looking forward to Thanksgiving! We love that it will only be a 2-day work week, and we're heading up to Illinois to spend the holiday with my family. I can't even describe how excited I am to have the excuse to eat and eat and eat! I'm now 24 weeks along, and our little girl is very active inside! She is kicking away as I type this! Jerry hasn't been able to feel her kick from the outside yet, but he's so anxious! I read on my weekly pregnancy update that babies inside the womb are typically most active between weeks 24-28, so I suppose I'll be feeling her more and more! It's such an odd but amazing feeling, even though it can sometimes be very distracting!

I'll end with a photo of Jerry and I at the concert last night. Keep in mind that my nose was stuffy, eyes watery, and I was exhausted! We're hoping to take more pictures over Thanksgiving break! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
