38 1/2 Weeks

My due date is 11 days away!!! I know I say this in almost every post, but I just cannot believe how quickly this has gone by! I can't believe that any day now, we will be welcoming our daughter into the world! Jerry and I are beyond excited. We finally have the nursery completely ready -- all it's missing is Audrey!

Within the past few weeks, I have had a couple of friends who have had babies, and it just gets me more and more anxious and excited! After seeing their newborns' precious pictures, I just cannot wait to meet our little girl and see who she looks like and who she'll become! 

We've started a countdown in my classroom because my students have asked me constantly, "How much longer until the baby comes, Mrs. Rengering?" So now, each day, the board has a countdown of days (mere days!) until the due date. I've tried to explain to them that it doesn't mean that she will for sure come that day. Some of them keep saying, "Wait, WHAT? You are leaving in only 11 days?" As a teacher, it's going to be very hard to give up the control of my classroom (especially since I'm a control freak!), and it's even harder to try to get my sub plans done! I have been working on them, but it's difficult not knowing the exact day I will start my maternity leave. I am trying to be as detailed and prepared as possible, and I know my sub will be great, so now I just need to get everything finished!

This past weekend, I had my 4th and final baby shower (Cannot believe I've been blessed enough to have 4, including the one they had at school for me!). Carol, Jenny, and Kathy did a great job, and it was so wonderful to see some friends I hadn't seen in a long time!

So, as the doctor has said at my past 2 Monday afternoon appointments, "Now we wait." Another week of waiting is passing us by, and we'll see what the next week brings us! Being the controlling, organized, planning people that we are, Jerry and I are praying for next weekend to be the weekend! We would love for the 12th (one day early) to be when she comes, but this is one area of life that we know we do NOT have control! The biggest thing we ask is that God continue to bless us with a safe and healthy remainder of the pregnancy, as well as a safe (and quick!) delivery when the time comes!
