4 Months Old!

Here we are on July 15, 2011, and Audrey Blair is 4 months old today! Goodness, where has the time gone?! Last night, I said to Jerry, "Ya know, 4 months ago tonight, we were freaking out!" (at least I was!)

The past four months have been simply amazing, and words cannot describe how much better life is now that we are a family of three. Being a mommy has been my greatest adventure so far, and I just feel so blessed. Audrey has grown so, so much and continues to each day!

At four months old, she...

• is wearing mostly size 3-6 month clothes (except for some of the bigger stuff that was 0-3)
• wears size 3 diapers now
• when lying down, tries to sit herself up! It's so funny to see her pull her neck up, unable to pull up her whole body!
• goes to bed between 8-9 PM and usually wakes up between 6:15-7:15 each morning (love my little sleeper!)
• tends to fight her daytime naps, especially when she most needs them!
• eats 6 times/day and is only nursing (no cereal or foods yet!)
• reaches for and grabs at her toys on her playmat and bouncy seat
• is doing better in her car seat
• does not like when people she doesn't really know get up near her face to say hi, and she certainly lets us know that she doesn't like it!
• sucks on her hands any time she gets the chance
• pushes herself up when she's on her tummy
• loves watching Baby Einstein or staring at all the people on the TV
• makes spit bubbles constantly by "pffftt"-ing with her lips and tongue (I seriously don't know what else to call that!)
• Giggles and smiles like crazy for Daddy and Mommy

Sweet 4 month old Audrey

We continue to learn more about her and being her parents each day, and Audrey makes it pretty easy to learn, in that she communicates well what she wants (or more often, doesn't want!). Jerry and I are absolutely loving parenthood, and I do think it suits us well. We have made sure to make time for "just us," and have had date nights. As we enter her fourth month of life, we are just enjoying each day that we share together, especially knowing they are passing by all too quickly. Already I have been feeling that sinking, sad pit in my stomach, knowing that all too soon I will be going back to work, having to be away from my little girl each day. But for now, I am trying to soak up every single moment with her! We sure have had an amazing four months!
