Our family...

My photo
We have been married since June 2007. We live in our home in Chapin with our amazing, sweet daughter, Audrey, who was born in March 2011, and our clever dog, Betsy. This blog is a way to keep our out-of-state family and friends updated on our lives!

4 Weeks Old!

Today, Miss Audrey Blair is 4 weeks old! It is so hard to believe that 4 weeks have gone by since we welcomed her into the world! On one hand, it feels like it has been ages since we drove to the hospital that early Tuesday morning. On the other hand, she has grown so much and so quickly that I feel time has flown! Take a look at the next 2 pictures. The first one is from the day we left the hospital when Audrey was 3 days old (3/18). The next was taken in the same outfit when Audrey was 3 weeks, 5 days old (4/10). I promise I haven't shrunk the clothes! Our girl is growing like a weed!

The shoes would barely stay on those tiny little feet!

Look how much shorter the pink shirt is now! Such a long girl!

Here are a few highlights from our first 4 weeks together:
  • Audrey has discovered her hands!
  • She follows us with her eyes and loves looking at people!
  • At her 2 week checkup on March 30, she weighed 8 lbs, 1 oz (50th percentile)
  • At that same appointment, she was 21.75 in. long (90th percentile--A long girl!)
  • She has discovered her voice and loves "talking" to herself and us!
  • Audrey is still wearing newborn diapers and newborn sized clothes
  • She feeds about 7 times each day and does great eating from a bottle if we are out and about at feeding time
  • Just like Mommy and Daddy, Audrey loves to sleep! Anytime we run errands, she knocks out in her car seat pretty much the whole time we're gone. At night, she is usually down no later than 12 and will sleep until at least 6 a.m.
  • She loves her pacifier, especially when it's time to sleep.
  • She also loves sitting in her bouncer that Mommy's friend, Stephanie, brought her.
  • On April 10, she smiled at Mommy and Daddy for the first time as we talked to her (haven't been able to capture a picture of it yet!)
Happy girl in her bouncer!
In our opinion, Jerry and I are adjusting well to parenthood. Each day, we learn a little more about our little girl and how she communicates with us. I am so thankful I get to stay home for the remainder of this school year and just be "Mommy." Everyday that passes is another reminder of how incredibly blessed we are to be parents of such a beautiful, sweet girl!
Our little blessing!
